• Compulsory giving to the poor.
• Purification by giving away one’s possessions.
• Not an income tax. It is more of a wealth and asset tax (approximately 2.5% of the wealth).
• To be given without the expectation of gratitude. It is not a favor.
• Additional charity is called “Sadaqa”.
