• Confession of faith that states, “God is One and Muhammad is His Messenger”.
• The confession is pronounced repeatedly and punctuates a Muslim’s life.
• First pronounced in the ear of the newborn.
• A person on his deathbed should say it as long as he can.
• It is a constant reminder of the Unity of God and the Unity of Mankind under one God.
